Santo Domingo to host 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games

The unanimous decision was made on Saturday, February 26, during the Extraordinary General Assembly, by the 37 member countries and associate members of the regional sports entity, in a meeting held virtually by Zoom.

This edition coincides with the celebration of the centenary of the Games, which makes Centro Caribe Sports the oldest regional sports organization in the world. In 1926, Mexico hosted the first version of the Central American and Caribbean Games.

This will be the third time the Dominican Republic is the site of the Games, after hosting them in 1974 in the capital city, and in 1986, in Santiago de los Caballeros.

San Salvador 2023 and Santa Marta 2022 present reports

The Organizing Committee of San Salvador 2023 and the Coordinating and Monitoring Commission of Centro Caribe Sports, offered a report on the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games 2023.

The reports were presented by Dinora Acevedo, director of next year’s Games, and by Jimena Saldaña, the representative of our organization, indicating that the regional multi-sport event will be organized from June 23 to July 8.

Among the points announced, were the definition of the visits of the international technical delegates (DTI) for San Salvador from March 28 to 31, and a second group scheduled for April 18 to 22 of this year.

Also, a seminar will be scheduled in order to transfer knowledge from past organizers.

Sara Rosario, president of the Commission for Future Venues of Centro Caribe Sports, reported that the Organizing Committee of Santa Marta continues to work hand in hand with the Colombian Olympic Committee for the assembly of the I Central American and Caribbean Beach Games to be held in November 2022.

Santo Domingo será sede de Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe 2026

SANTO DOMINGO, República Dominicana, 2 de marzo de 2022 – El Comité Ejecutivo Deportivo del Centro Caribe oficializó la ciudad de Santo Domingo, capital de la República Dominicana, como sede de los XXV Juegos Deportivos Centroamericanos y del Caribe en 2026.

La decisión unánime la tomaron el sábado 26 de febrero, durante la Asamblea General Extraordinaria, los 37 países miembros y miembros asociados del ente deportivo regional, en una reunión realizada de manera virtual por Zoom.

Esta edición coincide con la celebración del centenario de los Juegos, lo que convierte a Centro Caribe Sports en la organización deportiva regional más antigua del mundo. En 1926, México fue sede de la primera versión de los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe.

Esta será la tercera vez que República Dominicana sea sede de los Juegos, luego de haberlos albergado en 1974 en la capital y en 1986 en Santiago de los Caballeros.

San Salvador 2023 y Santa Marta 2022 presentan informes

El Comité Organizador de San Salvador 2023 y la Comisión Coordinadora y de Seguimiento de Centro Caribe Sports, ofrecieron un informe sobre los XXIV Juegos Deportivos Centroamericanos y del Caribe 2023.

Los informes fueron presentados por Dinora Acevedo, directora de los Juegos del próximo año, y por Jimena Saldaña, representante de nuestra organización, indicando que el evento polideportivo regional se realizará del 23 de junio al 8 de julio.

Entre los puntos anunciados, estuvo la definición de las visitas de los delegados técnicos internacionales (DTI) a San Salvador del 28 al 31 de marzo, y un segundo grupo previsto del 18 al 22 de abril del presente año.

Además, se programará un seminario para transferir el conocimiento de los organizadores anteriores.

Sara Rosario, presidenta de la Comisión de Futuras Sedes de Centro Caribe Sports, informó que el Comité Organizador de Santa Marta continúa trabajando de la mano con el Comité Olímpico Colombiano para el montaje de los I Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe de Playa a realizarse en noviembre de 2022.
