All is Ready for the Start of Beach Volleyball of the II Junior Pan American Games

ASUNCION, Paraguay, August 17, 2025. Today, the registration of the 32 pairs, 16 in each division (men’s and women’s), and the technical meeting were held, where all the details were explained about how the beach volleyball tournament at the II Junior Pan American Games Asuncion 2025 will be carried out.

The event begins this Monday, August 18, at the Pynandi Stadium of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, with 24 matches: 12 in the men’s division and 12 in the women’s. The Brazilian pairs arrive as the defending champions, after winning the I Junior Pan American Games held in Cali, four years ago.

The tournament will begin with the Men’s Division. On the main court, the local team of Juanangel Gomez and Camilo Vargas will face Julian Bristol/Clerique Ward of Saint Kitts and Nevis at 10:00 AM (local time). At the same time, on court 2, the Salvadoran twin pair Yoel and Christopher Guardado will face Martin Etcheberry/Fernando Quintero of Chile.

Meanwhile, the Women’s Division will start at 11:30 AM (local time) on the main court, with the local pair Denisse Alvarez/Fiorella Nunez opening the tournament against the Nicaraguans Norma Brenes/Nahima Silva. At the same time, on the alternate court, Emma Donley/Portia Sherman of the United States will face Marisa Abdala/Maia Najul of Argentina.

Paraguay

The competition day is divided into two sessions: the first starts at 10:00 AM, with the last match at 1:45 PM; the second begins at 4:00 PM and concludes with the last match scheduled at 7:45 PM, alternating 4 men’s matches and 4 women’s matches, two per court.

Pool C: Brazil (Carolina Sallaberry/Julia Vieira), Costa Rica (Laura Molina/Sofia Vega), Guatemala (Ana Sofia Arevalo/Danna Aguilar), Venezuela (Sara Lopez/Darlin Rodriguez).

Pool D: Canada (Sophia Hladyniuk/Jaeya Brach), Chile (Viviana Urretaviscaya/Alejandra Dubost), Colombia (Mercy Beleno/Mariana Gaviria), El Salvador (Karla Tovar/Daniela Vigil).

Beach Volleyball Set to Shine in Asunción 2025

ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay, August 16, 2025.- The sand of the Beach Volleyball Stadium at the Paraguayan Olympic Committee is set to welcome 32 teams from 19 countries for the highly anticipated beach volleyball tournament of the II Junior Pan American Games Asunción 2025.

With 16 teams per gender chasing glory, the top prize is more than just a medal: the champion will secure a direct berth to the Lima 2027 Pan American Games. In addition, the highest-ranked team from the opposite continental confederation that does not win gold will also qualify. A total of eight teams (4 per gender) will qualify to Lima 2027.

Brazil, the current champion in both genders, arrives determined to defend its crowns, while new rising powers dream of dethroning the titleholders and paving their way to Lima.

The preliminary meeting and official team registration will take place on August 17 starting at 9:00 a.m. The tournament will kick off on August 18 with morning and afternoon sessions. The final round with the medal matches will be held on August 22.
