Aixa Vigil led the field for Peru with 9 points, followed by Flavia Montes and Sandra Ostos, who each scored 5.

Juan Carlos Núñez, coach of Puerto Rico: “Today we came in with a tactical plan that worked for us, I think the serve played an important role in the match, we were able to read their setter a bit, as she is very stable. This is only our sixth match of the summer, so we still have to play, but as we continue to play this type of game against quality teams, it will give us the opportunity to continue fitting in better with the team and the tournament as well.”

Antonio Rizola, coach of Peru: “Puerto Rico’s superiority was evident with a better pace of play, game vision, and speed. We were able to play a little more evenly in the second set, but Puerto Rico’s superiority at this point is significant.”
