ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay, August 18, 2025.- The Women’s Division of Beach Volleyball at the II Junior Pan American Games Asunción 2025, held at the Pynandí Stadium of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, began with seven pairs that did not suffer defeat.
With two wins in Pool A are Denisse Álvarez/Fiorella Núñez of Paraguay and Emma Donley/Portia Sherman of the United States. These two teams will face off on Tuesday, at 1:00 PM (local time).
Paraguay defeated Nicaragua’s Nahima Silva/Norma Brenes 2-0 (21-11, 21-7) and Maia Najul/Marisa Abdala of Argentina 2-1 (22-24, 21-15, 15-11), in what was perhaps the best match of the day, while the United States also beat Argentina (18-21, 21-18, 15-11) and Nicaragua (21-14, 21-13).

In Group B, with two victories, are María Isabel Chacón and María José Galindo of Bolivia, who will close the group stage facing the Dominicans Yari Cleto/Crismil Paniagua, who stand with two defeats.
The Bolivians defeated Maykelin Drik/Kailin Garrido of Cuba 2-0 (15-21, 21-13, 15-10) and Estephannie Castillo/Yezet Romero of Peru with scores of 21-8 and 21-13.
With one victory and still undefeated are Sara López/Darlin Rodríguez of Venezuela and Carolina Sallaberry/Julia Vieira of Brazil in Pool C, while in Pool D, Sophia Hladyniuk/Jaeya Brach of Canada and Mercy Beleño/Mariana Gaviria of Colombia remain undefeated.
The tournament continues this Tuesday, August 19, starting at 10:00 AM (local time) with the matches between Brazil and Venezuela, in a clash of undefeated teams. Also, at 10:00 AM, Costa Rica will face Guatemala in a Central American classic.
