Two new records established by Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, June 12, 2022 – Two new team records for the NORCECA Pan Am Cup Final Six were set on Tuesday by Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic.

Roosevelt Comarazamy, the Press Communication director of NORCECA Confederation informed about the new standards for the event that is in its second edition in Nayarit, Mexico.

The two teams combined for 232 points in the five-set victory of Puerto Rico 3-2 (25-20, 25-22, 32-34, 22-25, 15-12) to open the actions of the second day of the competition.

The 34-32 third set won by the Dominican squad is also a new record.

Last year, Puerto Rico prevailed 33-31 in a second set of a match won by the Dominicans 3-1 (31-29, 31-33, 27-25, 27-25) on September 3 of the inaugural Final Six held in Santo Domingo.
