JOHN’S, Antigua , November 15, 2025. – In a thrilling showdown on the fourth day of the ECVA U23 Men’s Championship, Antigua showcased their skill, defeating Grenada 3-0 with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, and 27-25. This impressive victory highlighted Antigua’s dominance on home turf as they pushed their way closer to the championship title.
From the outset, Antigua’s home-based squad exhibited excellent teamwork and strategic play, outclassing Grenada in attack points 33 to 32, and showcasing a strong service game with 6 aces compared to Grenada’s 2. However, both teams faced challenges with unforced errors, as Antigua surrendered 32 points while Grenada erred 26 times.
George Freeland led the charge for Antigua with a standout performance, contributing 11 points, while Immanuel Asafar Donovan added 9 crucial points to secure the victory. On the opposing side, Grenada’s Kibose Hamilton emerged as a key player, scoring 12 points in a valiant effort.
Reflecting on the match, Grenada’s Coach Javin Noel stated, “The team made critical errors and failed to execute at crucial moments, which ultimately cost us the match. However, we remain hopeful for a podium finish.”
