Barbados Defeats Dominican Republic and Advances to the Fifth-Place Match

MANAGUA, Nicaragua, November 22, 2025.– Barbados swept the Dominican Republic 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-19) to advance to the fifth-place match of the NORCECA Boys’ U17 Continental Championship.

Barbados relied on a solid offensive performance to overcome the Dominican Republic. Isaiah John led the attack with 16 points, including 14 kills and two aces. Liam Yearwood added 9 points, while for the Dominican Republic, Enmanuel Ledesma scored 11.

Barbados held advantages in attacking (33-25), blocking (6-3), and serving (6-3), capitalizing on 30 opponent errors while committing 21 of their own.

Barbados will face the winner between Costa Rica and Nicaragua for fifth place, while the Dominicans will play the loser for seventh.

Yesterday they also played a good match; they worked extremely hard and today was a continuation of that. We are happy with the good performance and what we’ve shown in this tournament.”
