SANTA MARTA, Colombia, November 22, 2022.- Beach Volleyball of the inaugural Central American and Caribbean Sea and Beach Games Santa Marta 2022 are set to start on Wednesday at the Santa Marta Multisport Park “500 años” in El Rodadero.
The tournament will be played from November 23 to 26 with sixteen teams per gender representing 21 countries, divided into four pools.

On the eve of the competition, teams were officially registered during the preliminary inquiry conducted by three-time Olympic Champion Mireya Luis, NORCECA Executive Vice President and International Technical Supervisor for the event.
Mireya Luis explained that she has no doubt the most attractive sport of the Santa Marta Games will be Beach Volleyball, “our sport always attracts spectators, thanks to its energy and beach volleyball players spectacular performance”.
The preliminary pool-play round will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, with pool winners advancing to the quarterfinals. Second and third placed teams will play the eight finals on Friday, the winners advance to quarterfinals that same day. Quarterfinal winners advance to Saturday’s semifinals and finals.
Wednesday´s schedule of sixteen matches (eight per gender) begins with two women’s simultaneous pool C battles between Cubans Amanda Gisel Armanteros and Jennifer Rivera facing Gabriela Funes and Sofía Velásquez of El Salvador and Alexandria Victoria Ashman with Chevonna Aliya Lewis of Jamaica against Britney Choon/Tsyan Selvon of Trinidad and Tobago.
