SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, October 21, 2024. – Luis “Luismi” Beltrán, player of the Gigantes de Carolina, was selected as the Most Valuable Player and Best Libero in Week #12 of the Men’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSM) of Puerto Rico.
In this week, the last of the tournament, Beltrán, a graduate of Purdue University Fort Wayne, accumulated 69 digs in 17 sets played, for an average of 4.06.
Additionally, he made 81 receptions with an average of 4.76. Luis Beltrán, MVP of the week, finished first with 264 digs in 75 sets, for an average of 3.52.
In reception, he was also number one, with an average of 4.97, and the best libero with 264 positive digs and 373 positive receptions, for an average of 8.49.
Luismi and the Gigantes de Carolina finished in fourth place in the Metro section with a record of 8-12 and 25 points, advancing to the quarterfinals to face the Caribes de San Sebastián, defending champions and leaders of the Island section.
