Brazilians Ana Patricia and Duda Brazil Champions of Women’s Beach Volleyball at Santiago 2023

SANTIAGO, Chile, October 26, 2023 – Brazilians Ana Patricia and Duda secured a 2-0 victory (22-20, 21-18) over Canadians Brandie Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes in the Women’s Beach Volleyball tournament at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago.

The bronze medal went to Corine Quiggle and Sarah Lewis of the United States, who defeated Argentina’s Ana Gallay and Fernanda Pereyra 2-0 (21-18, 21-10).

In a closely contested match, the Brazilians showcased their experience, with Duda’s strong serving and Ana Patricia’s well-timed blocks to stop the efforts of Brandie and Melissa.

This marked Brazil’s the fourth gold medal in the history of the Pan American Games, with their first win dating back to 2011. For Canada, this was their first medal ever at these Games.

Mexico’s Atenas Gutiérrez and Abril Flores finished in fifth place after a 2-0 victory (21-9, 12-18) over Peru’s Claudia Gaona and Lisbeth Allcca.

Puerto Rico’s María González and Allanis Navas secured seventh place with a 2-1 victory (21-19, 18-21, 15-9) over Chile’s María Rivas Zapata and Chris Vorpahl in Women’s Beach Volleyball at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago.
