Canada loses to Serbia in its debut

Arnhem, the Netherlands, September 25, 2022.- The Canadian team succumbed to the Serbian team in their debut at the Women’s Volleyball World Championship.

Canada, one of the four NORCECA representatives participating in the competition, was defeated by Serbia with a score of 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-20) to fail in its first match of the fair. Serbia outperformed Canada in attacks (40-31), in serves (9-4) and in blocks (7-6).

The most outstanding players for Serbia were Tijana Boskovic with 23 points and Brankica Mihajlovic with 10, while for the Canadians Alexa Gray stood out with 14 and Kiera Van Ryk with 13.

The next commitment of the Canadian team will be this September 26 against the United States team.
