SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, February 9, 2026. – The Cangrejeras de Santurce preserved their unbeaten record by earning their sixth victory of the season in the Women’s Superior Volleyball League, defeating the Valencianas de Juncos 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-14) on Monday night to secure all three match points.
With the win, last season’s runners-up move into a tie for first place with the defending champions Criollas de Caguas, both with 17 accumulated points. Caguas holds a 6-3 record.
After taking a 2-0 set lead and with the third set tied at 13, Santurce went on an 11-0 run that put the set out of reach and allowed them to close the match. The victory was sealed 25-14 with a kill by Neira Ortiz.
Santurce outperformed Juncos 49-33 in attacks, 10-6 in blocks, 65-59 in digs, and 17-15 in assists. The Valencianas held the edge in service aces (2-1) and receptions (34-30).
Santurce’s offense was balanced, led by Andrea Rangel with 14 points (12 kills and two blocks), followed by Tamara Otene, Helena Grozer, and Neira Ortiz with 12, 11, and 10 points, respectively.
For the Valencianas (2-7, six accumulated points), who did not earn points in the loss, Haley Bush scored 16 points and Naya Gross added 11.
This was the only match on the schedule at the start of Week 5 of the action in LVSF.
Three matches are scheduled for Wednesday: Santurce visits the Leonas de Ponce at Salvador Dijols court at 8:00 p.m., while Caguas travels to Manatí and Corozal faces Juncos, both matches set to begin at 8:30 p.m.
