Cangrejeras Maintain Perfect Pace, Defeating Pinkin in Corozal

COROZAL, Puerto Rico, February 1, 2026. – The Cangrejeras de Santurce, runners-up in the Women’s Volleyball Superior League (LVSF), earned their third victory in as many outings by defeating Pinkin de Corozal 3-1 (21-25, 25-10, 25-21, 25-14) on Sunday night at the Carmen Z. Figueroa court.

With the win, the Cangrejeras collected the full three points to improve to 3-0 and reach 8 points, remaining in fourth place in the standings.

Corozal did not earn any points and stays in second place, now with a 3-3 record and 10 points.

In the fourth set, holding a 2-1 lead in sets, Santurce pulled away 15-10 after a soft attack by Andrea Rangel from zone two and a well-read ball by Tamara Otene. They then added three blocks to extend the lead to 21-12 and move closer to victory. Rangel, with an effective swing from zone two, reached set point at 24-14. The set ended on the following play after a middle attack error by Adriana Rodríguez.

Santurce’s offense was led by Andrea Rangel with 22 points, Tamara Otene with 21, and Helena Grozer with 12. For Corozal, Lindsay Krause led with 15 points, followed by Adriana Rodríguez and Jordan Iliff, each with 10.

In team statistics, Santurce outperformed Corozal 62-40 in attacks, 9-6 in blocks, 64-48 in digs, and 29-20 in assists. Corozal held the edge 4-3 in service aces and 35-34 in receptions.

LVSF action continues Wednesday with the start of week four, when Leones de Ponce visit the Pinkin de Corozal at 8:00 p.m.
