COROZAL, Puerto Rico, March 27, 2026. – The Santurce Cangrejeras became the first semifinalist team in the Women’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSF) on Friday night, securing their third consecutive postseason victory with a dominant 3-0 win (25-23, 25-22, 25-21) over the Corozal Pinkin at the legendary Carmen Z. Figueroa court.
The win marked Santurce’s 23rd victory of the season, as they remain undefeated since the start of the regular phase. For Corozal, it was their second loss in as many outings in Section A of the Quarterfinal round.
Holding a two-set lead, the Cangrejeras took control of the third set by pulling ahead 22-18 with a successful spike by Andrea Rangel. They later reached set point at 24-21 with an effective attack from Helena Grozer and closed out the match with a kill from Tamara Otene from the outside.
The Cangrejeras’ offense was led by Tamara Otene and Kara McGhee, who both scored 13 points, while Helena Grozer added 12. For Corozal, Ivania Ortiz and Daly Santana finished with 15 points each.
Santurce dominated in blocks (14-8), digs (55-53), and assists (16-15). Corozal, meanwhile, led in attacks (40-39), service aces (5-1), and receptions (51-36).
Action in this section continues Sunday, March 29, when the Valencianas de Juncos (0-1) host the Pinkin de Corozal at Rafael G. Amalbert Coliseum at 7:00 p.m.
In Section B, the Criollas de Caguas (2-0) will visit the Atenienses de Manatí (0-2) at Juan Aubín Cruz Coliseum starting at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28.
A victory for the Criollas would make them the second semifinalist team.
