Adjuntas, Puerto Rico – October 25, 2025 – In the only match played Saturday night in the Men’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSM), the Naranjito Changos swept the Adjuntas Gigantes in straight sets at the Rafael Llull court, securing all three points available from the encounter.
The set scores were 25-20, 27-25, and 25-21.
With this victory, Naranjito improves its record to 1-1 with a total of 4 points, moving into first place in this young season. Meanwhile, the Adjuntas Gigantes dropped to 0-2 with only 1 point accumulated.
The second set was the most competitive. After taking the opening set, the visiting Changos faced a dramatic finish. Adjuntas reached set point first (24-23) following a spike by Cristian Encarnación from position four but failed to close it out. After two consecutive ties, Naranjito sealed the set with back-to-back points—one from an Encarnación error and another from a back-row attack by Goldball—taking a 2-0 lead.
In the third set, the Changos pulled ahead 14-9 thanks to a left-handed attack from Sebastián Negrón from position two. However, Adjuntas narrowed the gap to 16-17 after a quick hit through the middle by Heriberto Maldonado and an attacking error by Goldball that tied the score. In the final stretch, Naranjito managed to contain the home team’s offense, capitalizing on several unforced errors to secure the win.
Set point came at 24-20 for Naranjito after another attack error by Encarnación. The match ended 25-21 with a successful quick attack through the middle by Ángel Rivera.
Offensively, Clarke Goldball, Sebastián Negrón, and Colton Cowell each scored 15 points for the Changos. For Adjuntas, Cristian Encarnación also tallied 15 points.
Naranjito outperformed Adjuntas in attacks (41-36), service aces (6-3), and digs (38-34). The Gigantes led in receptions (34-30) and assists (21-13). Both teams finished with five successful blocks.
