Changos Seize Final Playoff Spot and Eliminate Mets from Postseason Race

NARANJITO, Puerto Rico, December 10, 2025 – In the lone match on Wednesday’s schedule in the Men’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSM), the Changos de Naranjito defended “La Gelito” with authority, securing a decisive 3-0 victory (25-23, 25-23, 25-21) that officially ended the Mets de Guaynabo’s hopes of reaching the postseason.

With the three points earned, Naranjito climbed to sixth place, the final playoff berth, keeping their postseason aspirations alive, improving their record 6-12 with 20 points. Guaynabo, on the other hand, came away empty-handed and now sits at 2-16 with 9 points, sealing their elimination.

Statistically, Naranjito imposed its presence at the net with a 12-7 advantage in blocks and led in service aces 5-2. The Mets, however, outperformed in several areas, including attacks (46-29), digs (42-35), passes (31-24), and assists (16-11).

Offensively, the Changos relied on a balanced attack with Clarke Godbold contributing 11 points and Cole Gillis adding 10. Guaynabo’s effort was highlighted by strong performances from Invovel Romero (18 points), Hunter Oshman (15), and Johansen Negrón (14).

The Mets entered the season as the defending runners-up but will now conclude their campaign without a return to the postseason.
