Chitré, Panama, Host of the U21 AFECAVOL Men’s Central American Championship

CHITRÉ, Panama, October 7, 2024.- The city of Chitré, Panama, will host the 20th AFECAVOL U21 Men’s Central American Championship, to be held at the Papa Francisco Gymnasium from October 11 to 17.

Guatemala was crowned champion in the last edition, held in 2022 in Nicaragua, securing its eighth title in the history of the event. Nicaragua and Panama completed the medal standings,  winning the silver and bronze medals respectively.

Costa Rica and Nicaragua have each won the U21 title three times, while El Salvador and Panama have been champions twice. Honduras holds one gold medal.

The seven member countries of AFECAVOL will arrive in Chitré on October 9, with the preliminary meeting scheduled for October 10, and the competition starting on the 11th, with three daily matches.
