VALLEDUPAR, Colombia, July 2, 2022 – Colombia claimed its second victory in as many tries at the women-s volleyball tournament of the Juegos Bolivarianos following a straight-set win over Venezuela 3-0 (25-6, 25-16, 25-19) on Saturday night.
Laura Pascua paced the offense of the home girls by scoring 8 points in the lopsided first set.
The Venezuelans reacted and played solid volleyball after the disaster of the opening set when they could not rival with the Colombians.
In the first match of Saturday, Peru used its strong service game to trounce Bolivia 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-11) with Alondra Alarcon as the most outstanding player for the Peruvians.
Peru was playing for the first time in the five-team tournament. Bolivia suffered its second loss after falling to Colombia on Friday night.
