Mexico, March 2, 2026.- The seventh round of the Women’s Professional Volleyball League of Mexico (LVP MX) confirmed ongoing trends and provided a clearer picture as the season enters its decisive stretch. Coronelas remain unstoppable at the top, Tapatías solidify their position as the closest challengers, and Leonas delivered a statement performance to stay in contention for a climb up the standings.
At the Freseras venue, Leonas completed a road sweep to boost their aspirations. The first match ended 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-20), with Alexandra Goris García earning MVP honors for her offensive consistency and leadership in key moments. In the second match, Leonas prevailed again. Freseras responded in the second set but could not maintain the pace against a more balanced visiting side. Leonas secured a 3-1 victory (25-20, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20), with Alejandra Segura named Most Valuable Player.
The closest series of the round took place at the Guerreras venue. On Saturday, Tapatías claimed a dramatic five-set victory, 3-2 (23-25, 25-23, 14-25, 25-23, 16-14), sealing the match in the final points of the fifth set. Lizbeth Seomara Sainz Leal was named MVP following a decisive performance. In the second match, the Tapatías showed greater control and secured another win, this time in straight sets, 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-19). Sainz repeated as MVP, earning her seventh individual award of the season. With the sweep, Tapatías strengthen their hold on second place in the overall standings.
Meanwhile, Coronelas once again imposed their dominance at home against Gigantes. They won the first match 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-16), with Daniela Bernal Barraza recognized as MVP. In the second contest, they repeated the sweep, 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-20), confirming their collective strength and roster depth. The league leaders remain undefeated and continue to set the pace in the standings.
After seven rounds, the standings place Coronelas at the top with a perfect 13-0 record, followed by Tapatías (9-4) and Gigantes (7-6). Guerreras (5-8), Leonas (5-8), and Freseras (0-13) complete the table.
Round 8 will take place on March 7 and 8, featuring matchups between Guerreras and Freseras, Coronelas against Leonas, and Gigantes facing Tapatías. With the end of the regular season approaching, every series is becoming increasingly decisive in the race toward the playoffs.
