BARRANQUITAS, Puerto Rico, November 19, 2025. – The Plataneros de Corozal of the Men’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSM) swept the Gigantes de Carolina at the Juan C. Berríos court, earning all three points and knocking the Patriotas de Lares (7-3, 20 points) out of second place.
With the victory, Corozal improves to 7-3 and reaches 21 points, positioning itself right behind the two-time defending champions, the Caribes de San Sebastián (9-1, 24 points), who continue to lead the standings.
The Plataneros’ offense was powered by reinforcements Jalen Penrose and Spencer Olivier, who scored 21 and 14 points, respectively.
Corozal outperformed Carolina in attacks (48-42), blocks (6-2), and digs (33-30). Carolina held the edge in passes (42-41) and assists (20-15). Neither team recorded service aces.
Set scores were 25-22, 25-23, and 25-17. Carolina earned no points and now holds a 4-6 record with 13 points, sitting in fifth place. Cameron Milligan contributed 15 points for Carolina.
This was the only match on the Wednesday night schedule.
