Corozal strengthens its hold on second place, and Naranjito moves closer to clinching a playoff spot

NARANJITO, Puerto Rico, November 28, 2025. – The Changos de Naranjito (3-10, 12 accumulated points) defended their legendary Gelito Ortega court with a straight-set victory (25-20, 25-17, 26-24) over Gigantes de Carolina, earning all three available points in a crucial win to keep their postseason hopes alive in the Men’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSM).

The Changos’ offense was led by Clarke Godbold with 15 points and Cole Gillis with 12, both reaching double figures. For Carolina (4-9, 13 points), no player reached double digits.

In team statistics, Naranjito led in blocks (10–5), aces (6–0), receptions (33–32), and assists (23–19). Carolina, meanwhile, outperformed in attacks (35–30) and digs (41–31). With this result, Carolina remains in fifth place, tied with the Adjuntas Giants, while Naranjito stays in seventh.

In the second match of the night, Plataneros de Corozal (10-3, 29 accumulated points) reaffirmed their grip on second place in the standings with a 3-1 victory (25-20, 24-26, 25-20, 25-21) over Cafeteros de Yauco at the Juan C. Berríos court in Barranquitas.

Yauco, unable to add points, remains in third place with a 9-4 record and 24 accumulated points. For Corozal, Spencer Olivier shone with 28 points, followed by Jalen Penrose with 16. On the Cafeteros’ side, Brandon Rattray contributed 18 points, Axel Meléndez 12, and Juan Felipe Castañeda 11.

Additionally, LVSM Tournament Director Jaime Vázquez officially confirmed the date for the Peak Cup Final in a written statement:
