JUNCOS, Puerto Rico, January 28, 2026.– In Wednesday’s action of the Women’s Superior League (LVSF), the Criollas de Caguas and the Leonas de Ponce claimed victories in their respective matches, marking the start of the third week of the season.
At the Rafael G. Amalbert Coliseum, the Criollas defeated the Valencianas de Juncos in straight sets, 25-20, 25-21, 26-24.
With the win, the Criollas de Caguas earned all three available points to remain atop the standings, improving to a 5-1 record with 13 points. The Valencianas, meanwhile, remain winless in five outings and have yet to collect a point.

The Criollas had two players in double figures: Alexandra Sczech and Stephanie Enright, both with 11 points. For Juncos, Kelly Sánchez contributed 12 points and Naya Gross added 11.
Caguas led in attacks (41-38) and digs (78-75). Both teams recorded 11 positive blocks. The Valencianas were superior in service aces (4-2), receptions (44-28) and assists (18-9).
In the other match of the night, the Leonas de Ponce earned a five-set victory (18-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-13, 17-15) over the Atenienses de Manatí.
With the win, Ponce collected two points and improved its record to 2-3 with five points. Manatí, despite the loss, added one point and remains in third place with a 2-3 record and eight points.
The Leonas’ offense was led by Jordan Wilson with 20 points, followed by Abby Akey with 14. Gloria Mutiri, Jenselyn Morales and Mildrelis Rodríguez each added 11 points.
LVSF action continues Friday with two matches: the Valencianas de Juncos visit the Pinkin de Corozal at the Carmen Z. Figueroa court, and the Cangrejeras de Santurce host the Atenienses de Manatí at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum.
