Nassau, The Bahamas, August 23, 2025. – Curacao captured their first CAZOVA volleyball crown with an invincible run in the 19th tournament in the Kendal GL Isaacs National Gymnasium.
Curaçao’s 25-21, 25-23, 25-16 victory over hosts The Bahamas crushed the hopes of a filled gym of screaming supporters including Prime Minister Philip Davis and other members of his cabinet. Curaçao played unbeaten throughout the tournament.
The fiery Kyle Wilson and Shanari Hepburn gave faint glimpses of a possible first time win by the home team. However, Most Valuable Player Derwin Colina received tremendous support from top middle Carlos Isenia and the full team to silence the Bahamian chorus.
Earlier Jamaica ended a bitter tournament for the ousted 2023 kings Suriname as Jamaica grabbed the bronze in a bruising contest 25-23, 33-31, 29-31, 29-27.
