Dominica Secures Third Straight Victory at ECVA U23 Men’s Championship

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, November 14, 2025. – Dominica’s U23 Men’s team continued their dominant performance at the ECVA U23 Men’s Championship, earning their third consecutive win today against St. Vincent. The match, held at the YMCA in St. John’s, concluded with a 3-1 victory for Dominica (25-14, 20-25, 25-13, 25-17).

Dominica’s powerful offense was a key factor in their success, outscoring St. Vincent in attacks 47-27. They also held an advantage in blocks, leading 7-4. While Dominica committed 35 unforced errors compared to St. Vincent’s 31, their overall performance secured the win.

“Well for now I think we are doing well, we expect to win our games, and we are coming out and actually winning,” said Ithoma James, head coach of Dominica. “There are a few things we need to brush up on, but we have a young team, and we expect them to make little errors but at the end of the day we are strong enough to come through and win the game because that’s what we are here to do. We are very happy about our wins no matter who the competition is once we get to the finals and win it”.

Despite the loss, Damari Frederick, captain of St. Vincent, stated, “We don’t feel too good about the losses, but we know we are putting in our best to win the games, but we have to find different strategy, communicate better and keep trying our best. Our motive as defending champions was to head back home with the championship, but it is not going the way we expected it to go so we just must try and win the rest of our games”.

Dominica now stands undefeated with a 3-0 record, while St. Vincent seeks their first win with a 0-3 record.
