Dominica Stuns Antigua with Dramatic 3-2 Victory to Remain Undefeated

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua,  November 14, 2025. – In an electrifying showdown at the YMCA in St. John’s, Dominica achieved a remarkable five set victory 3-2 (25-19, 24-26, 25-21, 21-25, 22-20) against host country Antigua,  to maintain their undefeated status in the tournament.

Dominica showcased impressive skills, leading in attacks (60-54) and service points (8-2). However, the match was fiercely contested, with Antigua demonstrating their strength at the net, recording 23 blocks compared to Dominica’s 10. Despite committing 39 unforced errors, Dominica’s resilience shone through as they fought to secure the win in a thrilling final set.

Tahj Jno Jules was the standout player for Dominica, contributing a remarkable 21 points. He was well-supported by teammates Larian Tulloch and Sherron Vidal, who each added 15 points. For Antigua, Immanuel Donovan led the charge with 17 points from 15 kills and 2 blocks, while Amali Mannix scored 15 points through 13 attacks and 2 blocks.

Head Coach Ithoma James expressed his excitement: “I am very proud of this team. We are now the only undefeated team in the tournament, and the guys fought till the end. It was a good game!”

Meanwhile, Coach Michael Hamilton of Antigua reflected on the match: “I’m disappointed but not upset. Our players showed tremendous heart, especially given that the match went to five sets. We’ll rest this evening and come back fresh for tomorrow’s game.”
