ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, November 15, 2025. – Dominica clinched the top position in the ECVA U23 Men’s Championship with a decisive 3-1 victory over Saint Lucia. The match, held on the fourth day of the tournament, ended with scores of 16-25, 25-15, 25-22, and 27-25.
With this win, Dominica improved its record to an impressive 5-0, solidifying its lead in the tournament standings. In contrast, Saint Lucia now stands with two wins and three losses.
Larian Tulloch spearheaded Dominica’s offense, contributing 17 points, while Kurt Jimmal Peltier added 14. For Saint Lucia, Daniel Myers-James scored 12 points in a valiant effort.
Dominica showcased its strength in attacking points, outscoring Saint Lucia 45 to 38, and edged out in service points, 6 to 5. Despite these achievements, Saint Lucia excelled defensively, registering 9 blocks to Dominica’s 8. However, the match turned on the 35 unforced errors committed by Saint Lucia, contrasted with Dominica’s 34.
Post-match, Dominica’s captain, Larian Tulloch, expressed pride in his team’s performance: “We worked hard and played the game as we supposed to play. We came with a mindset to defeat all teams, which we did. We kept our energy up, stayed confident, and maintained our focus throughout the match.”
Saint Lucia’s head coach, Levi Leonce, reflected on the team’s strategy: “Going into the game, our plan was always the same. We analyzed the videos, identified our deficiencies, and set up a clear game plan. Our mindset remained consistent, even in the face of challenges.”
