ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, November 16, 2025. – In a thrilling culmination of talent and teamwork, Sherron Vidal of Dominica has been honored as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2025 ECVA U23 Men’s Championship. Leading his team to an undefeated championship run at the YMCA in St. John’s, Antigua, Vidal showcased his exceptional skills, driving Dominica to a spectacular gold medal victory.
Dominica triumphed over host Antigua with a nail-biting match concluded at 25-15, 20-25, 25-17, and 25-19. The team demonstrated remarkable synergy and determination throughout the tournament, solidifying their status as champions. Antigua, powered by a fervent home crowd, claimed the silver medal, while Grenada celebrated with a well-deserved bronze after defeating Saint Lucia.
Vidal’s impressive performance didn’t go unnoticed; in addition to his MVP accolade, he also received the award for Best Opposite. His outstanding contributions were mirrored by his teammates, who collectively made a significant impact at the championship:
Tahj Jno Jules: 1st Best Outside Hitter
Jimmal Peltier: 2nd Best Middle Blocker
Miguel Fontaine: Best Libero and Best Digger
Grenada’s Kibose Hamilton was recognized as the 2nd Best Outside Hitter and awarded Best Receiver, while Rivaldo Smith earned the title of Best Setter.
Saint Lucia’s Daniel Myers-James was celebrated as the Best Scorer, and Emmanuel Peter received accolades as the Best First Middle Blocker. Additionally, Dimari Frederick from St. Vincent was awarded for his exceptional serving prowess, taking home the Best Serve title.
This championship has not only highlighted the rising stars of volleyball in the Caribbean but has also fostered an incredible spirit of competition and camaraderie among the teams.
