LAUSANNE, Switzerland, March 18, 2026.- The pool compositions for the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U17 World Championship were confirmed following the Drawing of Lots held at the FIVB headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The 24 qualified teams have been placed into four pools of six, with the tournament set to take place in Santiago, Chile from 6 to 16 August.
The draw followed a seeding system, with the hosts seeded first in Pool A and the defending champions in Pool B, and six other seeded teams placed across the four pools in a serpentine system before the remaining positions were completed during the ceremony.
Hosts Chile were placed in Pool A alongside Türkiye, with Egypt, United States, Thailand and Czechia completing the pool.
In Pool B, defending champions China were drawn with Peru, while Mexico, Venezuela, Tunisia and the Philippines complete the line-up.
Japan and Brazil were allocated to Pool C, with Argentina, Poland, Croatia and Spain filling the remaining positions.
Italy and Chinese Taipei were placed in Pool D, with Puerto Rico, Korea, Dominican Republic and Algeria completing the final pool composition.
The competition will begin with a round-robin phase, with each team playing five matches within their pool. The top four teams in each pool will progress to the round of 16 before the tournament moves into a knockout stage to determine the final standings.
The 2026 edition will mark the first time Chile hosts a volleyball world championship at any age or gender category.
