ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, November 16, 2025. – In a thrilling showdown at the ECVA U23 Men’s Championship held at the YMCA in St. John’s, Antigua, Grenada emerged victorious, clinching the bronze medal after a nail-biting match against Saint Lucia. The final score was 3-2, with set scores of 21-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-14, and 15-12.
Grenda’s slow start, allowed their opponents to take the lead by winning the first set. However, Grenada responded with tenacity and skill, dominating the second set to level the match. The contest continued with both teams showcasing remarkable resilience, but Grenada ultimately prevailed in a decisive fifth set to secure the medal.
The match was characterized by Grenada’s impressive offensive performance, registering a total of 65 kills compared to Saint Lucia’s 40. While Grenada committed 25 errors, Saint Lucia faced 37, highlighting the competitive nature of the match.
Kibose Hamilton led the scoring for Grenada, delivering an outstanding performance with 28 points. He was supported by Zerick Walcott, who contributed 18 points, and Jamal Collins, who added 12. Saint Lucia’s leading scorer was Daniel Meyers-James with 17 points.
“Capping off this championship with a bronze medal is a significant achievement for us,” said Grenadian head coach Javin Noel. “We decided that we had to fight for the medal because our opponents were not going to give in. We fought, we were resilient, and we came out with the bronze.”
