March 3, 2026.- After turning in a stellar defensive effort across two matches, Morgan Hentz of Grand Rapids has been chosen as the Major League Volleyball Player of the Week presented by Franklin Sports. The Rise split two matches on the week, falling to San Diego at home before posting a road win at Orlando.
Hentz had 45 digs in the two matches, recording 6.4 digs per set. She led the Rise with 20 digs Thursday against the Mojo, while the team finished the contest with 76 digs — the most in three-set match in MLV history.
On Sunday in Orlando, Hentz had a season-high 25 digs in a 3-1 Rise road victory. Her 25 digs marked the second-most in a four-set Grand Rapids match and ranks fifth all-time in franchise history. Hentz also had seven assists across the two matches.
The honor marks the third time in league history that a libero has been chosen for weekly recognition and the second career accolade for Hentz.
The Rise returns to action on Saturday, March 7 when they host Omaha. Fans interested in tickets to the match – or any match in Major League Volleyball – can purchase them via links at theMLV Tickets Central page on the league website.
