Inaugural Boys’ Volleyball U17 NORCECA Championship to take place in Poza Rica, Mexico

POZA RICA, Mexico, November 5, 2023.- The Inaugural Boys’ Volleyball U17 NORCECA Championship will take place in Poza Rica, Veracruz, Mexico from November 7-12, with nine teams competing to qualify to the first ever U17 World Championship.

The U17 NORCECA Championship comes in compliance to the qualification process towards the inaugural edition of the FIVB U17 World Championship to be held in 2024,  announced in March.

The event grants four berths to the 2024 FIVB Boys’ U17 World Championship.

The nine teams competing have been divided in two pools, in Pool A: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Suriname; Pool B: Cuba, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Puerto Rico.

Preliminary poo-play will qualify the first and second places directly to the semifinals, while third and fourth placed teams will compete in the quarterfinal round.

The preliminary inquiry will take place on November 6, the competition starts on November 7 at Miguel Hidalgo Gymnasium.
