Jacqueline Cowan Honored at Jamaica National Sports Awards for Leadership and Service to Volleyball

JAMAICA, January 18, 2026.- Jacqueline Cowan, President of the Volleyball Association of Jamaica and a member of the NORCECA Board of Administration, was recognized at the Jamaica National Sports Awards held on January 17 for her outstanding contributions to the sport.

Cowan received an award in recognition of her “committed leadership as President of the Volleyball Association and for dedicated service to the development of volleyball in Jamaica.” The honor highlights her sustained efforts to strengthen the sport’s structures, promote growth at all levels, and elevate Jamaica’s presence within the regional and international volleyball community.

“I am grateful for this recognition and thankful for the teamwork and commitment that have contributed to the association’s progress,” Cowan said. “This award reflects the collective efforts of administrators, coaches, athletes, and partners who continue to work tirelessly for the advancement of volleyball in Jamaica.”

Under her leadership, the Volleyball Association of Jamaica has continued to focus on development initiatives, governance, and opportunities that support the long-term growth of the sport nationwide.
