MANAGUA, Nicaragua, December 13, 2025.– Guatemala prevailed in an intense battle over Nicaragua to secure second place in the standings and claim the remaining spot in the gold medal match of the Second Central American U15 Girl’s Invitational, where they will face Honduras for the championship.
Meanwhile, Belize earned its first victory of the tournament by defeating El Salvador, a win that allows them to face Nicaragua for the bronze medal on the final day of competition.

BIZ 3-1 ESA
Belize captured its first victory of the event by overcoming El Salvador 3-1 (25-17, 25-13, 25-19), a result that placed them fourth in the standings with a 1-3 win-loss record.
The Belizean team will face Nicaragua for the bronze medal on the final day of the tournament, scheduled for Sunday, December 14.
Belize outperformed El Salvador in attack points (36-13) and service points (10-8), committed fewer unforced errors (26-27), while both teams finished tied in blocking points (2-2).
Chloe Bowman led Belize’s offense with 14 points, while María Sierra topped El Salvador with 10 points.

GUA 3-2 NCA
Guatemala secured its place in the final after edging Nicaragua in a hard-fought five-set match, 3-2 (25-22, 15-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-13).
With the victory, Guatemala improved to a 3-1 record, finishing second in the standings, while Nicaragua closed with a 2-2 record, placing third.
In a very evenly matched contest, Nicaragua paid a high price for unforced errors, conceding 41 points compared to 27 by Guatemala.
The Nicaraguan team was unable to capitalize on its advantage in attack points (51-47) and service points (21-10), while both teams were even in blocking points (5-5).
Alejandra Papa led Guatemala’s offense with 19 points, while Ixtchel Talavera finished with 26 points for Nicaragua.
