Denis Rivera, Mexico head coach: “This match was practically about gaining the confidence we need to face what’s ahead, to try to find our rhythm, especially with a strong opponent like Cuba tomorrow as we look to close the group stage on a high note. Our main goal coming in was to build confidence, work with passion, teamwork, and above all responsibility, and to finish this match playing aggressively.”
Axel Ortiz, Mexico’s second top scorer: “Honestly, I’m very happy with my team. There were moments when we were a bit sluggish and could still improve, but as always, we’re united and we’ll keep pushing. Tomorrow, we have another tough match against Cuba, who are strong opponents with great height. We started very slowly, but then we gained more energy and in the third set we closed well, with good attitude, which was the key to the victory.”
