February 24, 2026.- By virtue of one of her most complete performances of the season, San Diego’s Marlie Monserez has been selected Major League Volleyball Player of the Week presented by Franklin Sports. The Mojo setter orchestrated a five-set comeback victory over Omaha on Sunday, the third victory over the last four matches for San Diego and its third consecutive home win.
Monserez recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 55 assists and 17 digs, guiding the Mojo to a .292 hitting percentage in first ball situations and a .219 mark in transition. Despite the team passing at a 2.4 rating and facing consistent pressure from Omaha’s serve, Monserez elevated the offense, creating high-efficiency opportunities and maintaining balance across all attacking options.
Individually, she attacked at a .625 efficiency, scoring on five of eight attempts with no errors, capitalizing on scoring opportunities and forcing the defense to account for her at the net, while averaging 5.5 assists and 3.4 digs. Her 55-assist performance is tied for the sixth-most in franchise history and marked her fourth 55-assist match of the season, underscoring her consistency and impact. This is her second career MLV weekly award.
