Nicaragua, United States, Mexico, Venezuela and Canada Men undefeated in Managua

MANAGUA, Nicaragua, November 28, 2025. – Nicaragua’s Mora/López, USA’s Priima/Schwengel, Mexico’s Sarabia/Lares, Venezuela’s Juliangel/Esyenser and Canada’s De Greeff/Licht remain undefeated, showing their intentions of reaching the top of the men’s podium at the tenth stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour in Managua.

In Pool A, hosts Rubén Mora/Dany López earned two victories. The first was a 2-0 (21-10, 21-8) win over Jayden Sebastian/Tilokani Kush of St. Kitts & Nevis, followed by a 2-0 (21-16, 21-13) victory against Guatemala’s Edgar Maldonado/José Izaguirre.

Maldonado/Izaguirre defeated Bermuda’s Benjamín Barnett/Brandon Souza 2-0 (21-13, 21-7), and later Sebastian/Kush prevailed 2-1 (19-21, 21-18, 15-13) over Barnett/Souza.

In Pool B, Lev Priima/John Schwengel of the United States, also claimed two wins, sweeping Nicaragua’s Jefferson Cascante/Denis López 2-0 (21-16, 21-17), and then battling hard for a 2-1 (18-21, 21-18, 18-16) victory over El Salvador’s Guardado twins (Yoel and Christopher), who held two match points before Priima’s block stopped their hopes.

Earlier, the Guardado twins had beaten Costa Rica’s Julian Araya/Cristhian Oporta 2-1 (26-28, 21-10, 15-13). Meanwhile, Cascante/López fell to Araya/Oporta due to an injury to Cascante, who is now doubtful to continue in the tournament.

In Pool C, Mexico’s Miguel Sarabia/Inés Lares defeated Canada’s Robert Kemp/Cameron Chadwick 2-0 (21-19, 21-13), and then closed with a 2-0 (21-10, 21-8) win over Elkreen Morton/Rogers of St. Kitts & Nevis. Kemp/Chadwick came from behind to beat the Dominican duo Alexander Wilmore/Yasser Jorge 2-1 (18-21, 21-11, 15-10). Earlier, the Dominican pair had defeated Morton/Rogers 2-0 (21-13, 21-15).

Pool D is the most balanced, with Venezuela’s Juliangel Vargas/Esyender Delgado and Canada’s Luke De Greef/Martin Licht each earning two victories. Juliangel/Esyender won 2-0 (21-14, 21-14) against Belize’s Francis Hauze/Edgar Martínez and 2-0 (21-14, 21-12) over Panama’s Víctor Aráuz/Adamit Del Cid. Meanwhile, De Greef/Licht also topped Aráuz/Del Cid 2-0 (21-15, 21-16) and defeated Hauze/Martínez 2-1 (21-6, 17-21, 15-10).

Everything is set for Saturday’s decisive matches to determine the winners of each pool and the teams advancing to the quarterfinals.
