NORCECA Mourns the Passing of Former FIVB Executive Vice President Aleksandar Boricic

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 4, 2026.- The North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation NORCECA expresses its profound sorrow following the passing of former FIVB Executive Vice President Aleksandar Boričić, today in Belgrade, Serbia, at the age of 78.

A respected international leader and a lifelong servant of volleyball, Boricic made a lasting impact on the sport as a player, administrator and visionary. He represented the Yugoslav national team for nearly a decade and later became one of Europe’s most influential sports administrators, serving as President of the European Volleyball Confederation CEV.

Boricic also held senior leadership roles within the International Volleyball Federation FIVB, serving on its Board of Administration, as a member of the Executive Committee and as Vice President, later becoming Second Executive Vice President and contributing to the governance and development of volleyball worldwide.

Throughout his career, he worked tirelessly to strengthen volleyball structures at national, continental and global levels, earning widespread respect across the international volleyball community.

NORCECA President Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz shared a heartfelt message:
