SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, August 18, 2022. The Panamanian national team won with a score of 3-0 (25-20/25-23/25-22) the Honduran national team, in the second game this Thursday in the Championship Central American U23 Men, held at the Palacio de los Deportes in San Salvador.
Panama arrived determined to leave the victory, however, Honduras would complicate the match. The first set ended 25-20, for the second set Honduras had more force, but could not win, with a margin of two points the set went to the Panamanians (25-23).
In the third set Panama had the victory in their hands, however Honduras would come dangerously close drowning the set point twice. The set would end 25-22, a 3-0 victory for the canaleros.
The best scorers for Panama were Gherson Ortíz and Denzel Arboine with 12 points, while for Honduras, Roberto Palma scored 15 points and captain Alejandro Lobo 13 points.
Honduras dominated the spikes 38-36 and also the blocks 6-4, the serves favored Panama 3-1, which also had 32 points in their favor due to opponent errors and committed 20 errors.
Panama gets its first victory and Honduras its second loss. For this Friday, Panama will face Guatemala at 2:30 pm and Honduras will play Costa Rica at 5:00 pm.
