LARES, Puerto Rico, November 4, 2025. – The Patriotas de Lares claimed a straight-set but hard-fought victory (25-20, 25-23, 25-23) over the Mets de Guaynabo at the Félix Méndez Coliseum, earning all three available points and becoming the sole leaders in the Men’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSM) standings.
With this win, Lares improves their record to 5-0 with 14 total points. Meanwhile, the Mets of Guaynabo were unable to add to their total, dropping to 1-4 with 4 points, currently in seventh place.
Both teams finished with 40 attacks and five blocks each. Guaynabo outperformed Lares in digs (36-32), receptions (39-28), and assists (22-14), but couldn’t convert that advantage into set wins.
The Patriotas’ double-digit scorers were Jair Santiago with 13 points and Garrett Muagututia with 10. For Guaynabo, Inovel Romero and Gregory Torres each contributed 14 points.
Caribes Survive Naranjito’s Pressure at the Gelito Ortega
At the iconic Gelito Ortega court in Naranjito, the Caribes de San Sebastián had to dig deep to preserve their undefeated record after five outings, edging the Changos in a thrilling five-set battle 3-2 (22-25, 25-16, 25-19, 20-25, 15-12).
With the victory, San Sebastián earns two points, improving to 5-0 with 13 total points. Despite the loss, Naranjito picked up one point and is now tied for fifth place with the Cafeteros de Yauco, both holding a 1-4 record and 5 points.
In the decisive fifth set, the Caribes broke an 11-all tie with back-to-back kills, one from zone four by Corey Chavers and another from zone two by Ezequiel Cruz. The set point came with a block against Clarke Goldball, and the match ended 15-12 after a service error by Sebastián Negrón.
