Patriotas de Lares Conquer Guaynabo and Climb to Second Place in the LVSM

Coliseum, the Patriotas de Lares, with five players scoring in double digits, earned a valuable victory over the hometown Mets de Guaynabo in four tightly contested sets.

The set scores were: 25-19, 19-25, 27-25, and 25-23.

With the win, the Patriotas (8-4 and 23 accumulated points) moved back into second place in the standings, sharing it with the Plataneros de Corozal.

Setter Luis Ruiz shone with 37 assists, running the offense for five hitters who reached double digits. The attack was led by Jair Santiago, who tallied 26 points (25 kills and 1 block). He was followed by Nick West with 14 points, Francisco Guzmán with 13, Jonathan Rodríguez with 12, and Jovanny Torres with 11.

For Guaynabo, which suffered its fourth consecutive loss, Johansen Negrón was the main spark with 24 points, supported by Inovel Romero with 13. The Mets remain in the cold cellar with a 2-10 record and only 8 points.
