Ponce Celebrates Its First Win of the LVSF Season by Defeating Juncos

JUNCOS, Puerto Rico, January 25, 2026. – The Leonas de Ponce celebrated their first victory of the season in the Women’s Volleyball Superior League (LVSF) by defeating  Valencianas de Juncos in four sets, 3-1 (25-23, 25-16, 19-25, 25-21), on Sunday night at the Rafael G. Amalbert Coliseum.

With the win, Ponce earned the full three points available and improved its record to 1-3 (3 points). Meanwhile, the Valencianas remain winless and without points after four matches.

Juncos extended the match to a fourth set after a 6-0 run with the score tied at 19. That surge included an attack by Haley Bush from zone four, a crosscourt attack error by Jordan Wilson, blocks on Andrea Serra and Jenselyn Morales, and a final block on Wilson herself to close the set.

Ponce celebrates

In the following set, the Leonas regained control and pulled away to a 16-10 lead, an advantage they never relinquished.

In team statistics, Ponce led in attacks (46-44) and service aces (6-5). Juncos held the edge in blocks (10-9), digs (59-55), receptions (39-27), and assists (11-10).

Ponce’s offense was led by Jordan Wilson, who finished with 23 points (21 kills, one block, and one service ace). For Juncos, Haley Bush contributed 21 points, while Keishlyann Sánchez added 10.

LVSF action continues this Wednesday with two matches: Criollas de Caguas vs. Valencianas de Juncos at 8:30 p.m., and Atenienses de Manatí vs. Leonas de Ponce at 8:00 p.m.
