ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – November 13, 2025 – In an impressive display of talent and teamwork, Saint Lucia triumphed over Anguilla with a commanding 3-0 victory (27-25, 25-17, 25-12) in Game #1 of Day 2 at the 2025 ECVA U23 Men’s Tournament.
Leading the charge for Saint Lucia was outside hitter Daniel Myers-James, who delivered an outstanding performance with 15 points. His contribution was instrumental in securing the win against a determined Anguilla squad, which saw Trevon Smith leading his team with 10 points.
This victory enhances Saint Lucia’s momentum as they aim to solidify their position in the tournament. Their tactical play and cohesion on the court clearly demonstrate their potential as strong contenders for the championship.
Head Coach Levi Leonce commented, “This second win was another informative game for us. Winning is always gratifying, but the insights we gain from these matches are crucial, especially in a round-robin format. The guys are tired, but we approached this game knowing it would be a busy schedule. I am pleased with the win; we will rest and come back strong for our next match this evening.”
Anguilla Team Captain Amani Richardson added, “We will keep trying and working hard, fighting for every point so we can come back stronger in our next game.”
Looking ahead, the tournament schedule remains exciting. Upcoming matches today include St. Vincent facing Grenada at 4:00 PM, Dominica competing against Anguilla at 6:00 PM, and the highly anticipated matchup between Antigua and Saint Lucia at 8:00 PM.
As the tournament progresses, Saint Lucia reinforces its goal of dominance, while other teams seek to capitalize on their performance and vie for victory in the remaining matches.
