San Salvador to Host AFECAVOL U19 Women’s Central American Championship

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, November 8, 2025. – The Salvadoran capital is getting ready to host the 15th edition of the AFECAVOL U19 Women’s Central American Championship, to be held from November 11 to 15 at the FESAVOL Gymnasium.

Six countries will compete for the Central American title, divided into two groups:
Group A: Costa Rica (defending champion), Guatemala, and El Salvador (host)
Group B: Belize, Nicaragua, and Honduras

During the first three days of the tournament, the six teams will play in the preliminary round. On Friday, November 14, the match for fifth place will take place, followed by the semifinals. On Saturday, November 15, the medal matches will determine the final standings.

In the tournament’s history, Costa Rica has claimed the championship nine times. Honduras has earned the gold medal twice (2005 and 2017), while Guatemala and Panama have each won the title once, in 2003 and 1996 respectively.

In the last two editions (2023 and 2019), Belize finished as runner-up.
