SAN SEBASTIÁN, Puerto Rico – December 10, 2025.- After falling in their previous outing, the Caribes de San Sebastián bounced back on Tuesday night, sweeping the Gigantes de Adjuntas 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-15) at the Luis Aymat Cardona Coliseum.
San Sebastián had suffered just their second loss of the season last Sunday against the Cafeteros in a five-set battle.
Offensively, the Caribes were led by Pelegrín Vargas Jr. with 15 points, while Roberto Pérez stood out for the Gigantes with 8.
With this victory, San Sebastián secured all three available points to remain at the top of the standings, moving closer to clinching a direct berth to the semifinals of the Puerto Rican Men’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSM) with a 16-2 record and 44 accumulated points.
Adjuntas, meanwhile, drops to a 5-13 record and 17 points, sharing sixth place with the Changos de Naranjito.
Plataneros Dominate at the Guillermo Angulo
At the Guillermo Angulo Coliseum, the Plataneros de Corozal claimed all three points by defeating the Gigantes de Carolina with scores of 32-30, 23-25, 25-16, and 28-26.
With the win, Corozal improves to 12-6 with 35 points, holding third place; Carolina remains in fifth with a 7-11 record and 22 points.
The Plataneros had five players reach double figures: Spencer Olivier led the offense with 20 points (19 kills and 1 block), followed by Jalen Penrose with 19, Julio Mercedes with 12, Ramón Matos with 11, and Joseph Oquendo with 10.
For Carolina, Arnaldo Torres contributed 15 points in the loss.
Cafeteros Prevail in Yauco
At the Félix Méndez Acevedo Coliseum, the Cafeteros de Yauco defeated Patriotas de Lares 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-19, 25-21).
For Yauco, Brandon Rattray led the attack with 19 points, while Jair Santiago scored 20 for Lares.
The Cafeteros, seeking a direct spot in the semifinals, improved to 14-4 with 37 points. The Patriotas remain in fourth place with a 10-8 record and 32 points.
