Asunción, Paraguay, August 24, 2025. – With an emotional and colorful ceremony at the Olympic Park of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, the 2nd Junior Pan American Games Asu 2025 came to a close. Music, dance, tributes, and the warmth of the public marked the end of a historic edition organized by Panam Sports.
The evening began with the presentation of officials and the parade of athletes, followed by the Paraguayan National Anthem performed by Jazmín del Paraguay. A show featuring 40 dancers and fireworks set the stage for the celebration.
“Thank you very much to everyone. Long live Paraguay!” said the President of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, Camilo Pérez López Moreira, with great emotion.
One of the highlights was the audiovisual “We Will Be a Legend”, a tribute to the athletes who shone in Asunción. Paraguayan culture was also showcased with “Paraguay, Land of Enchantment”, performed by the group Tierra Adentro, Susan Saldívar, and folk dancers.
Panam Sports President Neven Ilic expressed his gratitude to the Paraguayan people: “Two years ago, we were preparing with great enthusiasm, and today we carry the people of Paraguay in our hearts, as you opened the doors of your country to us with such warmth.”
Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz, President of the Pan American Volleyball Union, stated: “On behalf of the Pan American Volleyball Union, I would like to express my most sincere gratitude; these Games were a true celebration of youth and a showcase of sporting excellence. I especially commend the volunteers and recognize President Neven Ilic Álvarez for his leadership and vision.”
Volunteers received a special tribute for their fundamental role in the organization, while the Panam Sports and IOC flags were lowered as part of the formal ceremony.
The most symbolic moment arrived with the extinguishing of the Pan American flame, represented by 11 contemporary dancers, officially sealing the end of this second edition of the Games.
The celebration continued with performances by Rombai, DJ Faro, and more than 60 urban dancers. The official mascots, Tito and Tika, joined the final moments with the song “We Are Pan Americans.”
“We are closing these Junior Pan American Games. Thank you, Paraguay, and see you soon,” concluded Neven Ilic Álvarez.
