Brandon Taliaferro, United States head coach: “Yes, we are improving just as we want. It’s great that today other players got on the court and earned playing time and the experience that comes with hard work. We need to give everyone space, in practices, in matches and support them whenever needed.”
Dane Schaefer, U.S. setter: “I managed pretty well today. I felt good despite being new and playing with a new team. But I think I’ve fit in very well for being my first time. My hitters are very good, and I felt I had a pretty solid connection all the way through. We definitely improved during the match, and I’m very happy to win.”
