JUAN DOLIO, Dominican Republic, December 13, 2023. – Both United States teams, Tate Calles/Bredan Onishchenko and Kyle Paulson/Sebastián Rodríguez, the Cuban duo Noslen Díaz/Jorge Alayo, and the Canadian pair Tynan Gannett/Steven Abrams, progressed to the Semifinals of the NORCECA U-23 Beach Volleyball Tour played on the courts of Juan Dolio beach, Dominican Republic, this Wednesday.
Calles/Onishchenko (USA) beat Zendai Richards/Clerique Ward (SKN) by forfeit, while the duo of Paulson/Rodríguez (USA) defeated the Costa Rican duo Julián Araya/Stanley Grant 2-0 (21-16, 21-15) to secure their spots in semifinals.
Díaz/Alayo (CUB) advanced after beating Rolvin Maldonado/Alexander Wilmore (DOM) 2-0 (21-5, 21-6), and Gannett/Abrams defeated Yoel Guardado/Christopher Guardado (ESA) 2-0 (21-17, 21-19).
The United States teams will face each other, while Cuba will face Canada in the Semifinals scheduled for Thursday morning.
