Unstoppable Caribes! San Sebastián Sweeps Mets for Seventh Straight Win

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – November 8, 2025. – The two-time defending champions, Caribes de San Sebastián, defeated last season’s runners-up, the Mets de Guaynabo, 3-0 (25-20, 29-27, 25-19) on Saturday night in the only match on the Liga de Voleibol Superior Masculina (LVSM) schedule, extending their undefeated streak to seven.

The match took place at the Mario “Quijote” Morales Coliseum in Guaynabo.

With the win, San Sebastián collected all three available points (7-0 record, 18 total points), while the Mets remained at 1-6 with only four points.

The Caribes dominated in blocks (9-3), aces (4-0), and assists (16-11). Guaynabo, on the other hand, led in attacks (45-41), digs (38-33), and receptions (34-29).

In the second set, the Mets squandered a 24-21 lead and fell in extra points. Three straight errors—one on serve by Inovel Romero and two attack errors by Rafael Burgos through the middle and Johansen Negrón from position four—tied the score at 24.

Although Guaynabo had two more set point opportunities, they couldn’t capitalize, and San Sebastián closed the set 29-27 with a successful block against Romero.

In the third set, the Caribes, led by Pelegrín Vargas Jr., jumped out to a 4-0 lead on serve and never looked back.

Pelegrín Vargas Jr. led San Sebastián with 17 points (13 attacks, 1 block, 3 aces), while Inovel Romero topped Guaynabo with 18 points, all on attacks.
