USA’s Nuss & Brasher Win Silver at 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship

ADELAIDE, Australia, November 23, 2025.- USA’s Kristen Nuss & Taryn Brasher captured the silver medal at the FIVB Beach Volleyball Women’s World Championship, securing the second World Championship podium of their careers. The American duo, who previously earned bronze in Mexico in 2023, battled fiercely in Sunday’s gold medal match in Adelaide, Australia, before falling in three sets to Latvia’s Tina Graudina & Anastasija Samoilova.

Nuss & Brasher’s silver adds to the United States’ rich history in the event, marking the country’s 14th women’s World Championship medal. Despite the loss, the pair delivered an outstanding campaign in Adelaide, reinforcing their status among the world’s top teams.

The victory handed Graudina & Samoilova Latvia’s first-ever World Championship title, and the country’s first podium finish in either gender. Earlier on Sunday, Brazil’s Carol Solberg & Rebecca Cavalcanti secured the bronze medal.

Third-seeded Kristen Nuss & Taryn Brasher were the only team able to take a set off the eventual crowned champions, pushing the gold medal match to three sets before falling 2-1 (15-21, 21-15, 15-11). Their strong performance in the final made them the lone pair to challenge Tina Graudina & Anastasija Samoilova, who otherwise went through the entire tournament without dropping a set in their eight matches in Australia.

With three aces under her belt, Anastasija emerged as the best scorer of the final on a total of 26 points. Tina chipped in with another 21 points, including two aces and a kill block. Brasher also finished with 21 points. Her tally featured three blocks and an ace. Valiant defender Nuss added 13 points for the US team.
