Valencianas Upset Criollas in Five Sets; Santurce Remains Unbeaten and Ponce Earns Three Points in the LVSF

JUNCOS, Puerto Rico, February 20, 2026 – Friday’s action in the Women’s Volleyball Superior League (LVSF) resulted in victories for the Valencianas de Juncos, the Cangrejeras de Santurce, and the Leonas de Ponce.

At the Rafael G. Amalbert Coliseum, the Valencianas rallied from behind to claim two of the three available points with a 3-2 (28-26, 16-25, 21-25, 25-15, 16-14) victory over the defending champions, the Criollas de Caguas.

Juncos forced a fifth set after dominating the fourth frame. With Caguas leading 2-1 in the match, the Valencianas opened the set with an 8-3 advantage at the first technical timeout and extended the margin to 16-11 at the second following a cross-court attack by Haley Bush from zone four.

The lead grew to 19-12 after a net violation by Alexandra Sczech, and Juncos secured a comfortable 23-15 cushion with a kill by Kelly Sánchez from zone two. An ace by Allanis Orama sealed the 25-15 set win, sending the match to a decisive fifth set.

In the fifth, Juncos jumped ahead 9-3 thanks to a quick attack by Orama from zone four. However, the Criollas responded with a 9-3 run of their own, highlighted by a successful attack from Génesis Collazo in zone two to tie the set at 12.

After two additional ties, the Valencianas withstood Caguas’ surge and closed out the match 16-14, with Haley Bush delivering from zone four and Naya Gross attacking through the middle on a play in which Caguas failed to return the ball inbounds.

Juncos’ offense was balanced, led by Haley Bush with 26 points, followed by Allanis Orama with 18, Kelly Sánchez with 16, and Naya Gross with 11. For Caguas, Jenaisya Moore scored 26 points, while Alexandra Sczech added 14 and Valeria Flores 11.

With the win, Juncos improves to 5-9 with 14 points, while the Criollas, despite their loss, earned one point to remain in second place at 7-7 with 23 total points.

Santurce Remains Unbeaten

At the Roberto Clemente Coliseum, the runner-up Cangrejeras de Santurce stayed undefeated with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-13) victory over the Pinkin de Corozal.

Santurce collected all three available points and now holds an 11-0 record with 30 accumulated points.

Corozal failed to earn points in the loss and remains in third place at 7-6 with 21 points.

Ponce Prevails in Manatí

At the Juan Aubín Cruz Coliseum, the Leonas de Ponce also won in straight sets, defeating the Atenienses de Manatí 25-23, 25-21, 25-22.

Ponce earned the full three points and moved into fourth place with a 5-8 record and 15 total points. Manatí, which did not earn points in the loss, drops to fifth place, tied with Juncos at 4-9 and 14 points.

LVSF action pauses this Saturday, February 21, and resumes Sunday with two matches:

-Cangrejeras de Santurce host the Leonas de Ponce at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum starting at 6:12 p.m.

-Pinkin de Corozal visit the Atenienses de Manatí at the Juan Aubín Cruz Coliseum, with the match scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
